The Director, Talent Acquisition position is responsible for working with internal customers and the recruiting team to design, implement, and lead talent acquisitions strategies and tactics to ensure that Abra has a solid workforce capable of accomplishing current and future business objectives.


  • Develop & execute a staffing strategy that aligns with the current and future business needs. This includes workforce planning, candidate sourcing, competitive intelligence, employer branding, social media use, external sourcing, and company growth or acquisition goals.
  • Partner with HR/Marketing/Operations/Executive teams to establish ABRA’s employer brand and incorporate the values consistently in messaging through communication materials and recruiting and selection processes.
  • Lead the development and execution of the military recruitment strategy and overall program management to ensure strong pipeline to support to the ACES apprentice programs.
  • Ensure the recruiting team is using the most effective processes for sourcing of candidates at all levels for current & future positions. This includes job boards, social media, career fairs, technical schools, industry publications, employee referrals, external recruiters, staffing agencies, etc. 
  • Use internal and external sources to develop competitive intelligence (sourcing methods, hiring practices, salary information, etc.) in compliance legal requirements and company guidelines.
  • Ensures ABRA’s compliance with laws and regulations relative to sourcing, staffing & hiring. Trains hiring managers on the same in addition to the ABRA recruitment process flow.
  • Define and communicate performance standards for Talent Acquisition team and drives execution against those standards. Manages and reports key staffing metrics on a regular basis. 
  • In addition to leadership of the function, may carry a requisition load and conducts searches, including confidential searches, for higher-level candidates up to the executive level.
  • Performs other duties as required to successfully meet the needs of the business.



10 or more years of Human Resources experience required. 3 or more years of Human Resources leadership experience required, recruiting leadership highly preferred.



Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or combination of school and equivalent experience.



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead a remote team
  • Proven collaborative approach to work in partnership with other HR team members and operations staff
  • Strong technology aptitude and skills and the proven ability to independently prioritize and organize work.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and best practices related to recruiting.
  • Must be familiar with ATS technology and use of social media in recruiting.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner and must have strong ethics and integrity.
  • Resilient and able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience with HRIS systems; Ultimate Software experience preferred.
